The Woodbury Police K9 teams serve as a vital part of the Public Safety Team by being a link to the community with events and outreach, as well as serving as a vital part in the safety and effectiveness of the officers and department through Narcotics detection, search and rescue and deterrence.
K9 handlers and their partners visit classrooms, perform demonstrations and a host of other community outreach & engagement activities. The Woodbury Police K9 Fund directly supports this mission.

Otis is a very visible member of the Community Support team and is specially trained and certified as a therapy dog. Otis serves both the community and the public safety department directly by being available to help reduce the effects of trauma and stress in the department as well is available to respond to calls for service of a traumatic event or mental health related incident. Otis was named by the 5th graders at St. Ambrose School after suggestions from all local 5th grade classrooms in Woodbury,
